just woke up outside the door…

Here is a picture of a Polyphemus Moth that had just started to dry out its wings outside the office door of one of my coworkers at Hopewell Culture National Historical Park in Chillicothe, Ohio on April 27, 2011. The temperature at that hour was a breezy 65 degrees with filtered sunshine—good enough conditions for a nighttime creature to hunker down.
